The Trent 100 SUP

In true Shoutoutwednesday fashion, we caught up with Oceansportsgirls follower Stacey as she recently took part in the Trent100.

The Trent100 is an exciting team paddleboard endurance challenge through three counties from Staffordshire through to Nottingham over
two days.

Why did you take part?

In April 2016 I was invited by Mark Price (Peak Sup / SaltWalk.com) to take part in the Trent Decent a 50km in a day paddle on the River Trent from Burton library to Trent Bridge during this paddle the 100km was discussed as we passed Trent Adventures site, with Mark noting that it would make a great overnight venue/pit stop on a 2 day paddle.....

Roll on 6 months and a lot of hard work by Mark and his support team Dave, Helen and Peak Sup, how could I not join them to complete the Trent100 when the invite was put out there.

I always like a challenge and it doesn't take much to bend my arm when it comes to pushing my physical boundaries.

What did you enjoy most about the experience?

Being on the water with likeminded people - especially Peak Sup Red Team mates Helen, Jim & Geez, who were out there to test themselves and push their own boundaries. Coming from a coaching background I enjoy seeing other people achieve what they think isn't possible.

However the real highlight for me was Friday night, paddling towards Trent Adventures, all lit up and the camp set up for our arrival. The evening consisted of food, camp fires, watching Casper Steinfath's movie Standing on Water and sharing stories of the 1st days paddling. Being based in the midlands it was a great feeling to show off the River Trent and what it has to offer.

I am already looking forward to the Trent100 2017 and having more paddlers out there with us.
