Ocean Film Festival launches in Brighton

For those of you that have been to one of these screenings before then we are sure you will want to go again and those of you that haven’t, we urge to go.

The Ocean Film Festival showcases films from around the globe to inspire, educate and entertain. The selection of films cover different aspects of the ocean, from the marine life to the extreme adventures that the ocean can offer individuals. The great thing about this tour is that you will learn and experience events and explorations you might not have a clue about in perfectly shot mini films that have all the information and footage down to a T.

You will be lucky enough to watch around 7 short films capturing ocean culture from all over the world. Below are a couple of trailers of the films to be screened at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange event on September 2nd.

For the surfers out there then ‘The Accord’ might take your fancy. Being a surfer in Iceland is an experience unique from anywhere else in the world. The Icelandic landscape is at once breath-taking, but also harsh and unforgiving for the tiny surfing community that inhabit the island. Follow
Heiðar Logi Elíasson, Iceland’s first and only professional surfer, on his
journey through Iceland’s magnificent terrain depicting the turbulent
relationship between an Icelandic surfer and the North Atlantic wind.

On a slightly more epic note, ‘OneVoice’ is the story of the North Pacific Humpback Whale's  battle to survive. The population declined to around 500 in the 1970s due to hunting, 40 years later and their numbers have increased to over 25,000. Through all the hard work, protests, demonstrations and perseverance, human beings have successfully brought back one of this planets oldest living forms of consciousness.
